Wordless Wednesday: Trick of the Light

This amused me. Evidently, some graffiti writer got tired of his work being painted over with the official brown of the town. Click here for more.

Amusing bit of rage against the machine. Perhaps the town could have an official wall to paint.

  21. Twenty years ago, a New York grafitti artist was arrested and Mayor Koch had him sent to art school. He became somewhat famous.

  41. Well at least it's more intelligent than most of the grafitti I see round here...

What amused me recently is the spate of grafitti cleaning teams washing away murals. In a couple of cases it has cost councils significant amounts when the mural was painted by a famous (and expensive) artist.

  42. WOW, that is funny!! Way to catch that!!! Happy WW!!

  43. I escaped Hartford (and CT) a few years ago and got up here. I can't tell you what a difference there is. Your book sounds really interesting; I have to check it out.

that is funny. I feel like writing that sometimes also.

  45. Shots like these are very neat. The graffiti artist doesn't understand that someone doesn't want his work there lol.

  46. Kind of poignant for me today... I was just reading about a mural in our city that had to be almost completely re-painted thanks to a tagger... the mural was a "peace mural" that was painted by local artists and students as a memorial to the fifty-two people that died violently in the city that year... and the tagger just needed to ruin it.

Wonder what the blight teams and the UNIT thinks about this

  48. Thanks for stopping by, everyone!

    DoubleDeckerBusGuy,
The taggers who are driven by ego are beastly little people who kill the poignant moments and the fun for everyone else. There are a few of them around these parts who really do need to be brought down a peg or two. I'm sorry about that fiasco up your way. Stinks.

    good pic.

off topic- For future reference, anyone who sees this even. please dont refer to graffiti writers as taggers. that implies writers only tag , which is not nessecarily true.
