Wordless Wednesday: The Waterway Get link Facebook Twitter Pinterest Email Other Apps By SandyCarlson - August 05, 2008 Wordless Wednesday Wordless Wednesday Get link Facebook Twitter Pinterest Email Other Apps Comments Lara1:02 AMwhat a view! a piece of land stranded between waters, a metaphor in images...ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyAnonymous1:11 AMWow--very cool (one of these days I'm gonna learn to discuss photography intelligently, really).ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyUnknown1:40 AMamazing shot! i like the place. i like the angle. i like the skies. when we were in capones island, we also made an intracoastal waterway using sands, stones and woods because there's a water flowing on one part of the beach. the water was coming from the hills.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyUnknown2:11 AMY?I love it! Makes me want to float along exploring. :)ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyx2:35 AMoh wow, beautiful letter Y!ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyKay2:36 AMThis is such an interesting photo. Another amazing shot from you. I like it.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyAnonymous7:34 AMGreat matrix of symbols here -- dowser's wand, woman's cusp, separates uniting (or unities separating), Y of the Yin, island in the stream: an intercoastal bliss!ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyCarver7:39 AMThat's a beautiful shot Sandy. I used to do a lot of sailing out of Oriental, NC where my parents had a vacation house. I've sailed many times on the Intracoastal waterway but have never taken any photographs of it. You did a great job with that one.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyPaul8:29 AManother beautiful post Lil, simply amazing!ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyPietro Brosio8:57 AMA very romantic view with a charming light which gives a great atmosphere.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplymaryt/theteach9:32 AMBeautiful shot, Sandy! Would like to float some paper boats on it and see them go their separate ways. :)ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyAnonymous12:37 PMThis is a great find Sandy. A perfect picture of understanding. :)ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyMojo12:45 PMSandy, welcome to NC! I'm not sure where you are on the Intracoastal, but I hope you brought extra memory/film. There's never a shortage of good photo opportunities on our beaches. If you get a chance to visit the Crystal Coast by all means take it. I've got several shots from the Beaufort/Atlantic Beach area and a few others from the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach/Carolina Beach area.Next time let me know when you're coming! This shot reminds me of that Robert Frost poem The Road Less Traveled. Without the road... or the yellow wood. But you get the idea.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyPappy2:10 PMWhen you come to a fork in the road, take it. Yogi Berra. Maybe the same would apply to a stream in Yogi's world. PappyReplyDeleteRepliesReplyJim2:49 PMHi Sandy, this is a neat place to be (maybe, because it looks wild and marshy). Happy WW! I have both RR Tuesday and Wordless Wednesday up today. Each has a dog, one for my old dog, Adi, and the other the new dog we are inheriting, Katrin...ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyAnonymous3:46 PMI like what Chuck said - it's a fork in the road. Only this time, in awe of a blessing, instead of bemoaning a curse. Beautiful.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyAnonymous2:30 AMThat is gorgeous. It reminds me of fishing in Alaska.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyAnonymous2:54 AMThat water looks amazingly still -- or maybe it just looks that way on the surface? Still water = mosquito breeding ground.
