Wow--very cool (one of these days I'm gonna learn to discuss photography intelligently, really).

  3. amazing shot! i like the place. i like the angle. i like the skies.

when we were in capones island, we also made an intracoastal waterway using sands, stones and woods because there's a water flowing on one part of the beach. the water was coming from the hills.

Great matrix of symbols here -- dowser's wand, woman's cusp, separates uniting (or unities separating), Y of the Yin, island in the stream: an intercoastal bliss!

  15. That's a beautiful shot Sandy. I used to do a lot of sailing out of Oriental, NC where my parents had a vacation house. I've sailed many times on the Intracoastal waterway but have never taken any photographs of it. You did a great job with that one.

This is a great find Sandy. A perfect picture of understanding. :)

  27. Sandy, welcome to NC! I'm not sure where you are on the Intracoastal, but I hope you brought extra memory/film. There's never a shortage of good photo opportunities on our beaches.

If you get a chance to visit the Crystal Coast by all means take it. I've got several shots from the Beaufort/Atlantic Beach area and a few others from the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach/Carolina Beach area.

Next time let me know when you're coming!

This shot reminds me of that Robert Frost poem The Road Less Traveled. Without the road... or the yellow wood. But you get the idea.

  28. When you come to a fork in the road, take it. Yogi Berra. Maybe the same would apply to a stream in Yogi's world. Pappy

  29. Hi Sandy, this is a neat place to be (maybe, because it looks wild and marshy).
Happy WW! I have both RR Tuesday and Wordless Wednesday up today. Each has a dog, one for my old dog, Adi, and the other the new dog we are inheriting, Katrin.

I like what Chuck said - it's a fork in the road. Who says it isn't a river road? Or maybe the stream less paddled... Wonderful inviting shot!

  38. we often face crossroads in our life and sometimes we take the right path and sometimes we take the one we were meant to, just to find out we went down the wrong one. But no matter what they both shape our life, and that is why it is called living.

Asking the age old question, "Why me?" Only this time, in awe of a blessing, instead of bemoaning a curse. Beautiful.

That water looks amazingly still -- or maybe it just looks that way on the surface? Still water = mosquito breeding ground. Still, it's a pretty picture.

    ReplyDelete

  50. this is spectacular!!! not only is the subject fascinating, but i also love the golden glow reflected on the water and the banks... a very "philosophical" photo, if the term exists... one could write a wonderful essay about this photo--- the fork, the flowing water, the dusk/dawn...
