Home in Connecticut is near a wonderful swamp that teems with life during the warm weather. In the cold weather, I enjoy walking along the edge of it to enjoy the color and the patterns that undergird all the color and beauty of summer. It's all good--even if most of the residents are off on vacation.

  1. Oh, I love the marshes and swamps and bogs! (We have a few nearby too) They're all lovely, but the bottom photo is a wonderful image of winter. I sat and stared a while.

    Beautiful!

It's like going to a theme park during the offseason when the park is completely deserted and when you can photograph the structures at your heart's content. Or that's just me. :)

Love the the third photo, very intriguing.

  25. Well you're familiar with some of our wetlands here in NC -- the ones along the coast anyway.

Are those cranberries in the second shot? Kind of looks like it, but I don't remember then being "fuzzy" like that.

Love the skim of ice in the last photo. Looks cold, but there's a warm mood to it.

  26. First photo looks familiar but I can't place it. I want to say vanilla but I don't think that grows in a swamp! LOL

  32. Very interesting! I wonder what the first three would look like with a layer of snow on them?
