One Single Impression: Skin

So often words fail
To close the gap,
Fail to name
The truth of love.

Then must our skin
Speak for us
Until there is

No space, no silence

Nothing between

Your pulse and mine

But skin

Hand to hand,

Heart to heart,

Cheek to cheek

All pulse and breath

That is life

That becomes a dance,

Your life and mine, one life

One gesture that begs

All language to blow out the lights

And be gone;

All will be well.

  1. When skin touches skin
    Something will happen
    You may warm the heart
    You may chill the soul
    Your touch tells on you

  4. a dream --- yes. is it possible --- yes. to everything there is a beginning, and there are times i dread the skin i am in, but here in your words, a bird's eye view of human integrated circuits of love, beginning with the skin one is in --- doesn't need defining, doesn't need a label --- a very profound impression.

  5. My skin is dry and red at the moment... but it's a nice image and by the look of it, it is colder where you are than it is here.

Wonderful poem of love and intimacy. Could be a lover or a child-- like the ambiguity of it.

    Anywhere, this side of...ooops!
