Weekend Snapshot: The Shape and Color of Love

I love that rhododendrons are weeds to some and prized possessions to others. Seems to be lot each of us has inherited. When they bloom each May, I realize all over again that if you're beautiful, you're beautiful. That's all there is to it without any help or explanation. And if you're not, that's all there is to it. But I am comforted and pleased that so much in this world is beautiful.

  4. So pretty. I'm visiting a garden in Oregon in about three weeks that is a Rhodadendron Garden. Can't wait. Some people consider these weeds???? How perfectly strange.

  5. Another blogger posted about rhododendrons today. I'll tell you what I told her. I love the sound of "rhododendron," but somehow it sounds kind of hard for something that looks so delicate.

But they do have a toughness, don't they? And yes, there's beauty in that. Real beauty.

I have never planted one in my yard, as they are not my fave. But I have one in a front corner of the yard that is gorgeous, and I actually love it. I would never have chosen it, but there it sits in all its glory.
