Wordless Wednesday: Giver and Taker

From Jul 1, 2011

Three time a day, at least, I am on this beach, amid these waves, alongside these waves, in front of these waves. No such thing as too much! The ocean is vast and relentless and fun. And let us say big and strong and unforgiving. Three people have drowned in the past week in rip tides along the Carolina coast.

And then there are these guys holding court in the soft mud while they wait for that vast blue diner we call the Atlantic to serve up something for breakfast. There are three different birds here, and I think the big dude in the middle gets the last word.

  1. Enjoy your beach days Sandy but be VERY careful too. Undertows and riptides can defeat even the strongest of swimmers.

Take care and lots of hugs, G

  2. lol Thats so true about birds. lol

I am sorry to hear three people died.Water is indeed a dangerous place to play games in even in the safest times, as we learn with tsunamis.

  3. I love the water, love the beaches and, yes, we do need to be aware of the danger, but who can NOT spend time at the beach! Terrific captures as always, Sandy! Hope your day is going well!

  4. Another lover of the ocean here too.
Great shots Sandy, if you only see the sea 3 times a week, cant be the sea for your Everyday, tomorrow.

  5. Lucky you being able to be at the beach every day and hearing the whoosh of the waves rolling in. The Greater Black-backed Gulls are certainly looking for food. The two on the left look like immature birds. The big shorebirds might be willets. I bet you could have a good "beach list" of birds. I keep all sorts of "lists" of birds.
