Our World Tuesday Meme: Flying By

From December 30, 2011
There's nothing like a day near the water, especially in an unpretentious place like Topsail.  The happy face below greeted me on my morning walk.  I admired his "feathered" hair style.

After an afternoon of photographing pelicans, I made my way back to the store to get some food for supper.  Crossing the high-rise bridge, I did a no-no and snapped a few random shots of the setting sun.  Braver souls have pulled over to take photos, but I haven't managed that feat  yet.

Back at the laundromat-lounge bar, things were cooking on Thursday.  Another party I missed.

And then one day you came back home
You were a creature all in rapture
You had the key to your soul
And you did open
That day you came back

  3. A beautiful collection of images, Sandy. That pelican catches my breath.. and that little hairy, sand face is just so endearing. Did you do that.. or simply happen upon it?

  4. Did you draw the face in the sand, or another did.. even so fun! :) And the pelican who drifts away in the air, so lovely!

Beautiful post. Ha ha, I am so sorry you missed the karoake in what sounds like an ideal place ;>). (If you are like me, if you had gone, it would have ruined your otherwise perfect day.)

  17. Catching the setting sun while on the fly is a pretty amazing achievement. Sounds like that party behind the Laundromat is one you were perfectly happy to miss. Seems like a lot more fun hanging out by the smiley sand art. :)

  20. I was just thinking that it is time to head to the beach for a winter walk. The ocean air rejuvenates me, nourishes me, keeps me sane! I'd be framing that last shot!

  25. So Sandy, my question is; where is home for you? Connecticut, or North Carolina? Which place tugs at your heart and fills you with longing, and lets you relax and "be" when you are there?
