One Single Impression: Smile Get link Facebook Twitter Pinterest Email Other Apps By SandyCarlson - January 21, 2012 From December 29, 2011 Seagulls In their high-steppingBroad-shoulderedPuffed up Way Of surveying the shoreMake me smile. These feathered dons own the place. They privilege me with the opportunityTo breathe their airTo see their skyTo walk in stepWith the surf whose pounding cadenceIs a caress,The fingers-through-the-hair Of a familiar lover,A touch that is always welcome,A leaning in To the strengthThat says all is well and You are safe.Walk with me,Be with me, Custodian of the tide.Keep your fingerOn the pulse of the world.Enter the world of a seagullAnd smile. One Single Impression One Single Impression Get link Facebook Twitter Pinterest Email Other Apps Comments Lisa at Greenbow8:22 AMGulls are the livley greeters and the constant gangs that hang around the beach. They make me smile too. Your poem made me smile this morning. Have a great weekend.ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyHilary9:07 AM"A custodian of the tide." That's a great line. I love the sea gulls too. Cheers!ReplyDeleteRepliesReplyA Lady's Life2:02 PMThese birds always make me smile. They don't have a care in the world. Just flying, running on their thin little legs, and looking at you curious, wondering if there will be something left behind for them.People used to feed them but now I don't see many doing it.So they go to the garbage dump and this is also the place falcons and eagles go, so it is not so safe for them. I leave something in the bog for them so they know to go there instead of people's homes.Hope you are having a great day. :)ReplyDeleteRepliesReplySylvia K2:19 PMWonderful and very true words and a perfect capture!
