One Single Impression: Muse

You are my muse,
He said.
But you are a fool,
She said.
You are my life,
he countered.
I don't know what that means,
She said.
Neither did he;
He surrendered:
I love you.
She could not hurt him.
Her gift in reply?
Silence.
It goes like that sometimes.
If love is not reciprocal
It is nonetheless love.
We bow to that light
Even if our best gift
Is nothing.

  4. I have been on the silent end of that conversation and on the more loving end. I like the way you have described the silent end as loving because it surely is.

  5. My grand mother said my grand father never expressed that he loved her He showed her and actions spoke louder than words
When she got sick he cried thinking he'd lose her and she was shocked and then understood he truly loved her
So she taught us don;t ever fall for men who keep telling you they love you cause they may not. lol
She was some smart cookie my gramma

    creative rendering of the dialogue
between a muse and her admirer.
our best gift is never nothing, love will circle aroun and find
the one who offered her up.
