Skywatch Friday: This Blue

From January 5, 2013
This is about the sky. The rocks and snow, sand and grasses in the foreground? Forget about it. The searing reflection of sunlight on the still water. Not it. It's the blue above all of this that is tenaciously itself wherever you go. It belongs to winter. It is the blue that reminds you how much you love summer but only because you walk here now. You abide. The snow, the cold puddles, the biting winds, the harsh rains. You feel it, you take it in, you peel it off, you thaw by the fire. You know that blue through it all because it is the blue of summer that bids you feel the joy of being here because you have always been here. This blue is the happy emblem of faith well kept.

  5. Those are some gorgeous blues. They go from Indigo to cerulean with every blue inbetween. I would love more of that warm sunlight.

  10. It's a beautiful blue. Winter blues are the best. I revel in the cold, play in the snow, and chase the light to sunset.
